Maranatha Ministry Israel/Palestine

The return of Jesus Christ is the most important vision and purpose for every Christian. Moreover, the Great Commission, which is the fulfillment of this vision, is the most important command given to all Christians.

The Great Commission is the greatest and ultimate command for the completion of God’s Kingdom on earth, and it should be the vision and mission of every church. It is not to be fulfilled through a particular ethnic group, nation, or church but ultimately through every Christian in a way that combines their unique gifts and characteristics.

First and foremost, our ministry should not be a vague endeavor without a clear target, but rather one that is based on the Word of God and is specific and certain according to the current era. To spread the Gospel to all nations, global missions have provided statistics on evangelization worldwide. According to the Joshua Project, there are approximately 17,000 people groups, while the Southern Baptist Convention lists around 12,000 people groups.

Furthermore, according to these classifications, the Joshua Project identifies about 7,000 unreached people groups remaining, while the Southern Baptist Convention lists around 3,000 unreached people groups. Over 50% of these remaining unreached people groups are concentrated in the India/Pakistan region.

While focusing on the India/Pakistan region based on these statistics is crucial for fulfilling the Great Commission, we also need to understand why we should concurrently focus on Israel/Palestine.

It is important to consider not only the numerical aspect of evangelizing unreached people groups but also how ideologies, religions, and philosophies shape the global discourse and influence world events. In particular, the impact of urbanization and the major ideological and cultural influences emerging from large cities is significant. Since the information revolution, these ideological impacts and domino effects have transcended local areas to a global scale.

Today, key agendas in religion and ideology include Islam, the clash of civilizations (conflict between Western and non-Western values), political changes in the Middle East, and the influence of key gateway cities with historical Islamic heritage (such as Mecca, Medina, Jerusalem, Damascus, Baghdad, Cairo, and Istanbul, all located in the Middle East/North Africa). Among these, the significance of Jerusalem is paramount. Jerusalem, Israel, and Palestine are consistently featured in global headlines. Events in Jerusalem influence the Middle East, Europe, the United States, and ultimately the world. Additionally, Jerusalem is a benchmark for God’s historical timeline, where numerous prophecies have been and continue to be fulfilled.

In this context, Maranatha Ministry Israel/Palestine is dedicated to the following missions, and we invite all faithful Christians worldwide to join and partner in this divine work:
