From John D. Robb’s article “In God’s Kingdom Prayer is Social Action” in World Vision:
Active and strategic prayer is essential for the evangelization of unreached people groups for two key reasons.
To Bring Obedience to Christ
Firstly, an unreached people group is, by definition, a group without a church. Such groups can be identified by their ethnic, linguistic, and social characteristics. However, in all cases, an unreached people group is one where a vibrant church-planting movement that demonstrates and proclaims the gospel of the Kingdom has not yet emerged. God desires churches to publicly obey Christ. Satan hinders this obedience by reinforcing assumptions within the society that prevent people from following Christ.
It’s uncertain how these strongholds begin, but they may start with people falling into the trap of prideful “wisdom.” In environments where there is no church, these strongholds can persist for centuries, growing stronger across generations without being challenged.
To weaken and overthrow these prideful strongholds that hinder “the knowledge of God” and deny “obedience to Christ,” bold and determined spiritual warfare is necessary (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). Human efforts alone, no matter how persuasive, cannot liberate an entire people group from such darkness.
Prayer is absolutely essential. Only God, in His mercy, can open the eyes of a society blinded by these strongholds and bring them into the light of Christ.
To Send Laborers for the Harvest
The second reason prayer is crucial for unreached people groups is the need for God to send workers. Typically, unreached groups are either overlooked or resistant to the gospel, resulting in very few missionaries working among them. Christ instructed His first disciples to identify areas with a plentiful harvest but few workers, and then to petition the Lord of the harvest to send effective workers—something only God can do.
Whenever we witness remarkable breakthroughs among unreached groups, we find that such progress is preceded by ongoing, strategic prayer for those groups.
The history of missions is full of incredible stories of how God has called and sent workers, opened doors, thwarted the threats of enemies, and powerfully displayed the gospel at the right time. When we engage in united and strategic prayer, we see God’s actions aligning with our prayers more clearly than ever before.
We can conclude that the Lord of the harvest intends to send workers to every people group on earth. (Omitted portions)
Since God is the one who initiates prayer, and because people are praying so abundantly, we should not be surprised to see God’s powerful hand at work in the near future, spreading the gospel and transforming societies in many nations.
God Hears, and the World Changes
In the book of Revelation, the apostle John describes a vision given by God concerning human history. The vision shows a dynamic interaction between God, the heavenly beings, and the world we live in. The Lamb of God breaks seven seals, each affecting the course of human history. By the end of chapter 7, all of heaven praises and worships God, eagerly awaiting what will happen next in human history. However, at the beginning of chapter 8, everything falls silent. The seven angels with the seven trumpets stand ready to announce the continuing fate of the world, but they wait until the eighth angel offers the incense of all the prayers of the saints to God. Nothing can happen until this prayer, this incense of justice and victory, rises before God.
Prayer is the most powerful form of social action because God directly responds to those who pray. Prayer is the most powerful weapon in missions to unreached people groups because it invites God to do what only He can do. Even in the most desperate situations, God breaks the enemy’s false dominion, brings spiritual light, and breathes life into lasting social transformation.
God uses prayer to change us and to shape the future. Walter Wink said:
“History belongs to the intercessors who believe the future into being. It belongs to those who—through radical prayer—take a stand for what they believe should be, and who faithfully work towards that future, shaping it through prayer.”

Regarding Israel and Palestine:
We believe that as all those who have inherited Jerusalem as God’s legacy continue to pray and serve with faith until the end, the Lord will accomplish His will in His time. The peoples of Israel, Palestine, the Middle East, and all nations eagerly await the coming of the Lord.
Isaiah 62:6-7: “I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give Him no rest till He establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.”
