May God’s Will Be Done for All Nations and Jerusalem

The return of Jesus is the most important vision and purpose for all Christians. To fulfill this vision, the Great Commission is the most critical command for every believer.

The Great Commission is the greatest and final command given for the completion of God’s Kingdom on earth. Therefore, it must be the vision and mission of every church. The Great Commission is not to be fulfilled through a specific nation, people group, or church but by every Christian through the unique combination of their gifts and characteristics.

Our ministry must not be vague or without a clear target. It must be grounded in Scripture and tailored to the specific needs of the times. World missions already provide evangelization statistics for all nations to spread the gospel. Depending on how people groups are classified, the Joshua Project identifies approximately 17,000 people groups, while the Southern Baptist Convention lists around 12,000. Regarding unreached people groups (UPGs), the Joshua Project reports that about 7,000 people groups remain, while the Southern Baptist Convention identifies around 3,000 UUPGs. Both statistics show that more than 50% of the remaining unreached people groups are concentrated in India and Pakistan.

If we only consider these statistics, we might conclude that we should focus our efforts on India and Pakistan to fulfill the Great Commission. However, we must also understand why we should focus on Israel and Palestine simultaneously.

While evangelizing unreached people groups is numerically important, we must also consider how global ideologies, religions, and philosophical discourses are formed, how they influence the world, and the global impact of these ideologies.

In particular, the worldwide trend of urbanization and the influence of major cities on shaping culture and ideas are immense. Since the Information Revolution, the influence of ideologies has expanded beyond local areas to a global scale.

Today, key religious and ideological agendas include Islam, the clash of civilizations (Western values vs. non-Western values), political changes in the Middle East, and the influence of major cities that hold historical and religious significance for Islam (such as Mecca, Medina, Jerusalem, Damascus, Baghdad, Cairo, and Istanbul, all located in the Middle East and North Africa).

Among these, the significance of Jerusalem is especially important. Jerusalem, Israel, and Palestine are frequently in the headlines of major global news outlets. Events in Jerusalem influence the Middle East, Europe, and the United States, and ultimately, the entire world. Additionally, Jerusalem is a city where many biblical prophecies have been and will be fulfilled. It serves as a focal point of God’s work and as a prophetic clock.

Against this backdrop, Maranatha Ministries in Israel/Palestine is serving and praying through various ministries. At the same time, we invite every faithful Christian around the world to join and partner in this work of God.

We will continue to share detailed ministry participation opportunities and extend invitations.

Revelation 22:20-21: “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.”
